Gardening expert advises on value-adding 'tricks'
Garden improvements can be achieved through some simple tricks, Gardening Which? said today.
Using mirrors to create the illusion of extra space, as well as introducing extra rows of plants and trellises, are garden upgrades that can be achieved cheaply and quickly.
As well as making gardens more attractive for homeowners, the improvements can also make the property as a whole increase in value.
Editor of Gardening Which? Ceri Thomas advised: "Use tricks to deceive the eye like mirrors to give the impression of more space and buy plants that will thrive in the conditions you have to offer as there is nothing worse than looking at a sickly plant."
Ms Thomas added that other garden gadgets were proving "particularly popular" at the moment.
"Products to reduce maintenance, such as irrigation kits with computers [are popular]," she said.
"They will water your plants everyday without you lifting a finger!"
Householders looking to make improvements to their garden can finance the work by taking out a personal loan or a secured loan.
