Earthquake hits UK
UK homes were hit in the early hours of this morning by the biggest earthquake in decades.
A tremor registering at 5.2 on the Richter scale was measured across much of England at around 01:00 GMT.
Thankfully, just one person has been reported injured in the earthquake, the BBC reports.
Speaking to the broadcaster Bev Finnegan, who lives near the epicentre of the tremor in Lincolnshire, commented: "I was terrified to be honest.
"It felt like the roof was going to fall in. There were people coming out in their dressing gowns wondering what it was. It was quite an experience."
Home insurance firms are expecting extra claims from householders who have found either their properties or possessions damaged in the earthquake.
Andrew Lowe at Direct Line commented: "Customers can be rest assured that their home insurance policy will cover them for any damages or losses caused by the quake.
"As ever, our main priority is to help people get back to normal as quickly as possible and with the least amount of inconvenience - our claims teams are available to provide help and advice to people on the steps that need to be taken in order to get their claims processed quickly."
