North braced for storms
The storms sweeping across Britain are expected to hit northern England and Wales today.
Winds of up to 85mph have been recorded in the seaside resort of Blackpool as the bad weather continues.
Homeowners and businesses are bracing themselves for damage to their property from high winds or fallen trees.
Meanwhile, insurers will also be concerned as the storms are expected to lead to a spike in insurance claims.
Research out this week from uSwitch.com, the price comparison website, warned that any homeowner making a claim could expect their premium to rise dramatically next year.
