Bankrupt football star 'had no notion of money'
Former Manchester United star Eric Djemba-Djemba is trapped in a personal debt crisis, the Daily Mail reports.
Astonishingly, the footballer declared bankruptcy last year despite previously earning £75,000 per month while at the English club.
Currently playing in Qatar, Mr Djemba-Djemba was described by his agent as having "no notion of money", living an excessive lifestyle that could not be funded by his salary.
Christophe Mongay added: "At one point, he had 30 different bank accounts - he was juggling between credits [and] there was a time when he owned ten 4x4-drive cars - ten!
"Every penny was going straight to loan repayments - he was having to live on bonuses and extras. He started to ask United for advances and, at a club like that, something like that doesn't go down well."
Speaking in a recent interview, the Cameroon star said that rumours that he owes £400,000 in English taxes were untrue.
"I am not worried about any of this," he added.
"I have a good salary in Qatar now."
