Abbey tracks money worries
Britons spend much of their days worrying about their finances, a new poll from personal loans provider Abbey has shown.
The firm found that around half a million people are spending more than a day each week fretting about something.
Property and home contents worries concern 67 per cent of poll respondents - with personal finances occupying second spot on 48 per cent.
Lloyd Wilson at Abbey commented: "The current climate has seen more people worry about the event of job loss.
"While it is natural for people to worry a bit about their property and financial security, for the people who worry for more than 25 hours a week, it's more than just a healthy concern."
Evidence for the importance of property in people's fears to the future was provided by the regional breakdown of Abbey's results.
The most expensive part of the UK in which to buy a home, London and the south east of England, was found to be the area in which people reported the most worries.
