Discounts being 'passed up' by consumers
Consumers are missing out on billions of pounds worth of unclaimed financial discounts, it has been claimed.
A poll from MoneyExpert shows that 83 per cent of customers have passed up on some form of discount - whether through gift vouchers, loyalty points on cards, credit notes or air miles.
The financial website said that, in total, there is around £4.25 billion unclaimed.
It also found that 57 per cent of Britons do not use points on reward card - missing out on an average of £42 each.
Around one in five was also found to have not claimed air miles worth £162 apiece.
Consumers in London and the south east were found to be the most likely to not be claiming card points - while the over-55s were found to be the age group most likely to be sitting on unused discounts.
