Japanese motors 'most reliable in second hand market'
Future car loans customers looking to buy a second hand motor could do worse than shelling out on a Toyota Avensis Verso, Warranty Direct has suggested.
The four-door hatchback has come out top in the firm's annual Used Car of the Year poll, which measures how reliable different makes and models on the market are.
Toyota beat out fierce competition from Nissan and Honda, whose X-Trail and Jazz came second and third overall.
The latter manufacturer, however, will be celebrating getting four separate models on the 'top reliability' list - more than any other firm.
Managing director at Warranty Direct, Duncan McClure Fisher, commented: "Once more, Japanese cars have proven to be top of the tree when it comes to buying a used car.
"Not only are they consistently the most reliable cars on the road, but they clearly tick all the right boxes when it comes to appealing to the buying public."
A total of 60,000 vehicles were measured for reliability by Warranty Direct over the course of its research for the reward.
